Covid19 - The Second Wave

Since going back to work 5 days a fortnight at the beginning of June my weekday getaways have been more frequent. With Victoria our closest southern state now in lockdown and Queensland our closest to the north closing their borders to just about everybody, I was feeling as if it would only be a matter of time before NSW was once again under travel restrictions. Caravan parks and campgrounds are far from short in supply on the Central Coast with 12 parks within 30 minutes from home. Unfortunately not all of them are Pet Friendly so this trip, I would have to leave Claire at home.

Swansea Gardens Holiday Park

During summer when the weather is just right we put our boat in at Coon Island Point on Lake Macquarie and make the short trip to a little island not far off the mainland.  Just big enough for the 3 of us, a perfect spot. From the island we have noticed many a time, people swimming in a confined area on the opposite side of the point. I've always wondered where it was.  I now know 😀 Swansea Bay Beach is on the border of the Swansea Gardens Holiday park so I took a little drive down and checked it out.

As always, where possible I choose the "best spot in the park" and I was able to secure Site 235A for 3 nights. It is quite a large park with maybe 70% permanent holiday caravan rental sites at one end and holiday cabins and casual caravan and tent sites on the lake front. It made for perfect access to the lake if it had been warm enough for a swim and easy entry to a walking/bike track which surrounds the park encompassing Coon Island Point Nature Reserve.

The amenities were excellent and with only 12 other vans in the near vicinity it was a relaxing stay with clear skies albeit a tad windy and plenty of photo opportunites including an awesome sunset on my last night.

Hi there
Where did you get your lovely fabric for the annex? Did you make these yourself?
