I'm Livin' In the 70"s

After having such a great time at the Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival in March, how could I not go around again at ChromeFest 2019

This event is held every year at The Entrance on the Central Coast of NSW.

Caravans aren't widely represented at this event which is a shame. It's more about American Hotrods, Pinup Girls and Rock and Roll and when they all come together at the same event, the atmosphere is electric.

65000 plus retro loving folks attended this year with over 700 of them visiting Annie.

She certainly raised a lot of interest amongst the crowds of visitors in and out of her 70's time capsule interior.

Yes it's OK you can go inside . . . .

There was a constant flow of visitors from 8.00 am to 3.45 pm.  I barely got a chance to take any photos.  The van on display beside Annie, an original 1977 Millard in excellent condition, had a rope across it's door and folks weren't permitted inside. When they came across to Annie, most were hesitant to step inside despite the sign at the door to say they could 😉 and I was constantly encouraging them to "take a look". I loved watching their faces as they stepped up into her magical surround and hearing their comments to one another- the most common being . . . . .  "wow"

My favourite comment came from a middle aged, softly spoken fellow who visited for a few minutes and upon leaving he said "I came here today to see the cars. I'm a car man. I love my cars . . . . but this caravan. . . . . . is the best thing I've seen all day" ❤

A surprise win . . .

There were only a few caravans on display compared to the 100's of vintage cars and hotrods but the organisers of the event Californian Cruisin' Inc decided that Annie should receive a trophy for Best Retro Caravan.  Thankyou so much. It is the coolest little trophy I ever did see.❤

Hi there
Where did you get your lovely fabric for the annex? Did you make these yourself?

What a wonderful story and pictures to wake up to. The camper is wonderful and the park is perfect! Love the spoiled little doggy too. Keep making memories!
